About The Position

Assist an Imaging Technologist with x-rays, portable imaging, C-arm work, CT, MRI, and ultrasound examinations under the technologist’s direct clinical supervision and within the assistant’s qualifications. Work is performed according to physician orders to provide reliable and accurate information used in diagnosing and treating medical conditions, consistent with professional standards of practice. The assistant’s imaging duties are limited by their level of learning; they must not radiate a patient in this role until fully licensed to do so. The position includes completing procedure histories, cleaning and visually inspecting imaging equipment for safety, safely transporting patients with assisting devices as needed, maintaining orderly work areas, and applying knowledge of sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and procedures. The employee may be reassigned to other units and perform other duties within the scope of the job and organization. The employee must complete and maintain required education and training, comply with HIPAA and patient-confidentiality requirements, follow safety and health regulations and required PPE protocols, promptly report safety issues and job-related incidents in SafetyZone, and follow Hillsboro Health Standards of Behavior. The role also requires training or meetings related to the organization’s Corporate Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct, and awareness of when to contact the Corporate Compliance Officer about concerns involving fraud or abuse.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in a two-year certified Radiology Technologist School Program and be in the second year of the program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Must meet the position’s physical demands, including vision, hearing, repetitive motion, and environmental demands; reasonable accommodation may be available without compromising patient care.

Responsibilities

Assist technologists with x-ray, portable, C-arm, CT, MRI, and ultrasound examinations under direct clinical supervision and as qualified.
Perform imaging duties consistent with the employee’s level of learning; do not radiate patients in this role until fully licensed.
Complete procedure histories for patient exams.
Clean and visually inspect imaging equipment for safety.
Safely transport patients using assisting devices as needed.
Maintain orderly assigned work areas.
Use knowledge of sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and procedures.
Accept reassignment to other units as necessary.
Complete and maintain required education and training.
Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Follow safety and health requirements, regulations, and required PPE protocols.
Promptly report safety issues, job-related injuries or illnesses, and near misses in SafetyZone.
Follow Hillsboro Health Standards of Behavior.
Attend required training or meetings related to the Corporate Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct, and understand when to contact the Corporate Compliance Officer about potential fraud or abuse concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the job and organization.
