About The Position

The Imaging Student Extern provides high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care skills while gaining practical experience and knowledge in imaging principles. Under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist, the extern prepares for and assists with x-ray procedures according to their skills and training and departmental needs. The extern is enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of radiography and may perform higher-level procedures after demonstrating competency.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of radiography.
• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate degree or vocational school graduate.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated basic patient care skills.
• Prepare for and assist with x-ray procedures under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
• Perform higher-level procedures after achieving competency.
