About The Position

The Imaging Services Assistant supports patients and the imaging team at an outpatient imaging center in Muncie, Indiana, primarily working with the MRI department to promote smooth patient flow and a positive patient experience. The role works under the supervision of a radiologist, technologist, or radiology nurse and performs clerical and/or patient care duties that assist with imaging exams. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Healthcare experience is preferred, and students interested in gaining healthcare experience are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
0–3 years of experience.
May require Basic Life Support certification.

Nice To Haves

Medical terminology.
Experience in a hospital or medical environment.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with imaging exams by performing clerical and/or patient care duties under the supervision of a radiologist, technologist, or radiology nurse.
Perform clerical duties such as patient scheduling and registration, patient screening, reception, release of information, and inventory maintenance.
Perform patient care duties such as transporting and transferring patients, preparing patients for procedures, and discussing exams and preparations with patients.
Start IV access lines.
Assist with minimally invasive procedures when approved by regional leadership and with documented training and competency.
Perform other duties as assigned.
