About The Position

Supervises technical and non-technical activities of assigned clinical imaging service sections, ensuring testing operates efficiently and effectively and complies with system and regulatory agency standards. Provides input into department policies and procedures and ensures imaging services personnel maintain current knowledge of imaging techniques, procedures, and equipment operation. Assists in meeting the department’s business, financial, customer, service quality, and regulatory requirements, and serves as a technical resource for department personnel.

Requirements

• Associate degree in healthcare administration or business administration.
• Four years of experience in a related discipline.
• Registry in an imaging discipline.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned imaging section(s).
• Plan daily work schedules and assignments to ensure work is completed and reported promptly and accurately; support the manager with scheduling and coverage arrangements.
• Assume departmental responsibilities daily when scheduled or in the event of staffing shortages.
• Monitor turnaround times, investigate issues, implement corrective action, monitor inventory, and order supplies to ensure efficient operations and compliance with system and regulatory standards.
• Comply with preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Serve as a technical resource to subordinates by resolving complex problems and investigating and recommending corrective actions in response to incident reports or patient complaints.
• Develop, train, and evaluate imaging staff and participate in the hiring process to help attain objectives.
• Suggest improved work methods and ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and solve operational problems.
• Perform other related duties as required and directed.
