Imaging Services Assistant - PRN
About The Position
Works under the supervision of a radiologist, technologist, or radiology nurse. Performs clerical and/or patient care duties necessary to assist with imaging exams. Clerical duties may include patient scheduling and registration, patient screening, reception, release of information, and maintaining inventory. Patient care duties may include transporting and transferring patients, preparing patients for procedures, discussing exams and preparations with patients, starting IV access lines, and assisting with minimally invasive procedures as approved by regional leadership and with documentation of training and competency. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0–3 years of experience.
- May require Basic Life Support certification.
Nice To Haves
- Medical terminology.
- Experience in a hospital or medical environment.
- Customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with performing imaging exams through clerical and/or patient care duties.
- Schedule and register patients, screen patients, provide reception, release information, and maintain inventory as needed.
- Transport and transfer patients and prepare them for procedures as needed.
- Discuss exams and preparations with patients.
- Start IV access lines as needed.
- Assist with minimally invasive procedures when approved by regional leadership and with documented training and competency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
