About The Position

This is a full-time Imaging Services Assistant opportunity with IU Health. The role supports the Imaging Services department during off-hours and weekend operations through clinical and administrative assistance. The selected candidate helps provide a positive patient experience while supporting efficient workflow and patient throughput. The position works under the supervision of a radiologist, technologist, or radiology nurse. The schedule is 1.0 FTE: Wednesday and Friday, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM. There are no call requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–3 years of experience.
• May require Basic Life Support certification.

Nice To Haves

• Medical terminology.
• Experience in a hospital or medical environment.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical and/or patient care duties necessary to assist with imaging exams.
• Assist with patient scheduling and registration, patient screening, reception, release of information, and inventory maintenance.
• Transport and transfer patients, prepare patients for procedures, and discuss exams and preparations with patients.
• Start IV access lines and assist with minimally invasive procedures when approved by regional leadership and with training and competency documented.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
