About The Position

The Imaging Services Assistant supports the MRI department and patient flow at an outpatient imaging center in Muncie, Indiana. This PRN position works under the supervision of a radiologist, technologist, or radiology nurse and performs clerical and/or patient care duties to assist with imaging exams. The role offers day-shift hours and flexible scheduling, typically on one or two set days per week coordinated with the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–3 years of experience.
• May require Basic Life Support certification.

Nice To Haves

• Medical terminology.
• Experience in a hospital or medical environment.
• Customer service experience.
• Students interested in gaining healthcare experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical and/or patient care duties necessary to assist with imaging exams.
• Schedule and register patients, screen patients, provide reception, release information, and maintain inventory.
• Transport and transfer patients, prepare them for procedures, and discuss exams and preparations with them.
• Start IV access lines and assist with minimally invasive procedures when approved by regional leadership and when training and competency are documented.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
