About The Position

Inova Fairfax Medical Center is seeking an Imaging Operations Assistant to help provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients in the Imaging department. The role monitors patients’ conditions, reports problems promptly to appropriate personnel, assesses patients’ conditions to select appropriate transportation, and coordinates patient transfers with nursing and Radiology personnel. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon start.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
No licensure required.
No experience required.

Responsibilities

Monitor Imaging department patients to help maintain a safe and comfortable environment, consistently observe their conditions, and report problems immediately to appropriate personnel.
Assess patients’ conditions and select the most appropriate mode of transportation in accordance with physician orders and nursing/Radiology practice standards.
Communicate with nursing and Radiology personnel about transport problems to support timely and appropriate patient transfers.
Use safe and appropriate transportation methods and body-lifting techniques.
