About The Position

UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Radiology Extern for Cat Scan on a PRN, varied-shift basis. The role supports diagnostic imaging across imaging divisions, working with assistance and guidance from an imaging technologist. The extern performs diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direct or indirect supervision of an imaging technologist, processes images and assesses their technical quality, and notifies appropriate personnel when follow-up is needed. The role also assists with patient registration, general office duties, filing, and patient transport when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Graduation from an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program.
• Graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonographer program.
• ARRT registry.
• Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification.
• Registered in Diagnostic Ultrasound (RDMS).

Responsibilities

• Operate stationary and portable diagnostic imaging equipment in imaging divisions with assistance and guidance from an imaging technologist.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direct or indirect supervision of an imaging technologist.
• Process images, evaluate them for technical quality, and notify appropriate personnel of any required follow-up.
• Assist with patient registration, general office duties, filing, and patient transport when necessary.
