About The Position

UP Health System Marquette, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Radiology Extern in Cat Scan on a PRN, varied-shift basis. The extern operates stationary and portable diagnostic imaging equipment in imaging divisions with the assistance and guidance of an imaging technologist. The role performs diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direct or indirect supervision of an imaging technologist and processes images, evaluating their technical quality and notifying appropriate personnel when follow-up is needed. The extern also assists with staff functions such as patient registration, general office duties, filing, and patient transportation when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Graduation from an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program.
• Graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonographer program.
• ARRT registry.
• Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification.
• Registration in Diagnostic Ultrasound (RDMS).

Responsibilities

• Operate stationary and portable diagnostic imaging equipment in imaging divisions with assistance and guidance from an imaging technologist.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direct or indirect supervision of an imaging technologist.
• Process images, evaluate them for technical quality, and notify appropriate personnel of needed follow-up.
• Assist with patient registration, general office duties, filing, and patient transportation when necessary.
