PRN Imaging Associate - Radiology

About The Position

The Imaging Associate provides clerical assistance to technical staff and coordinates film assembly for report interventions, image tracking, procedure activities, and image distribution. The role supports Radiology operations across General Diagnostics, Ultrasound, MRI, Nuclear, Interventional, PET, Mammography, and CT. It is a PRN position with varying hours and days as needed, offering hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Proficiency with basic Windows applications.
Ability to file in terminal digital order.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Picture Archive Communications System (PACS) or Radiology Information System (RIS).
Clerical experience.
Current Imaging student.

Responsibilities

Provide clerical assistance to Radiology modalities, answer phones, and process requests courteously and promptly.
Relay preliminary test results to attending physicians.
Use RIS to complete demand faxing and fax or print reports.
Retrieve patient exam history and verify electronic images.
Complete documents properly and verify legal requirements for sorting, copying, and faxing.
Sort and scan Radiology documents into patients’ permanent medical records.
Relay study information to the appropriate Radiologist or physician for immediate interpretation.
Call patients to remind them of appointments.
Distribute fax requests to appropriate individuals and prepare and mail CD requests when available and applicable.
Burn CDs from the PACS system for patients, physicians, offices, and other authorized customers as requested and in accordance with departmental policies and guidelines.
Electronically sign in outside-facility CD images to the Department of Radiology’s PACS according to written policy.
Assist Technologists as a technical assistant during Mass Casualty Incidents.
Prepare reports and upload electronic images from PACS to the RISI PC for Radiologist conferences.
