About The Position
The ICU Technician is an invaluable bedside care provider on NewYork-Presbyterian’s nursing team, helping patients and families feel comfortable through compassionate care. The role supports the nursing department by collaborating with nurses and nursing attendants and providing quality phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing. This is a full-time evening-shift position in Neurosurgery at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center.
Requirements
- At least two years of current Nursing Attendant experience in a health care setting.
- Successful completion of a Nursing Attendant skills inventory.
- Recent training and/or experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and help put patients and families at ease.
- Draw blood and perform EKGs.
- Monitor vital signs and test blood glucose.
- Collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to support patient care.
