ICU Technician – Hospitalist – FT – Evenings
About The Position
The ICU Technician works at the bedside supporting patients and families as part of NewYork-Presbyterian’s nursing team. The role provides compassionate patient care and clinical support, including phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing. ICU Technicians collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants and help maintain high-quality patient care. This is a full-time evening-shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center in New York, New York. Roles require on-site presence, and employees should live within commuting distance; travel expenses are not reimbursed.
Requirements
- At least two years of current Nursing Attendant experience in a healthcare setting.
- Successful completion of a Nursing Attendant skills inventory.
- Recent training and/or experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.
- Ability to work on-site and live within commuting distance of NYP.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside support to patients and families.
- Draw blood and perform phlebotomy.
- Perform EKGs.
- Monitor vital signs.
- Perform blood glucose testing.
- Collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to support patient care.
- Take initiative in balancing patient care and clinical practices.
