About The Position

Armor Health is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide holistic nursing care in a correctional setting at Lackawanna County Jail in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The schedule is 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., including every other weekend and every other holiday. The position involves supporting healthcare providers and registered nurses, performing nursing procedures and tests, administering medications, coordinating care, and documenting patient contacts.

Requirements

• Current, active state license as an LPN.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist healthcare providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health histories, laboratory specimens, and vital signs, and administer TB skin tests.
• Conduct laboratory tests and ensure results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patients receive proper care for injuries or conditions.
• Review patient charts and record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside healthcare providers.
• Administer medications and implement healthcare practitioners’ orders.
• Document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
