ICU Technician – Neurosurgery – 8HS – PT – Nights
About The Position
The ICU Technician provides bedside support to patients and families as part of the NewYork-Presbyterian nursing team. The role combines patient care and clinical practices, with a focus on comfort, calm, compassion, quality service, and putting patients first. ICU Technicians collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants and support the nursing department through clinical tasks including phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing. This is a part-time night-shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center in New York, New York. The role requires on-site presence, and employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. Travel expenses are not reimbursed.
Requirements
- At least two years of current Nursing Attendant experience in a healthcare setting.
- Successful completion of a Nursing Attendant skills inventory.
- Recent training and/or experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside support to patients and families.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing.
- Collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to support patient care.
- Help monitor patients and serve as the eyes and ears of the nursing department.
- Balance patient care with clinical practices while providing quality service.
