About The Position
The ICU Technician is a bedside care provider on the NewYork-Presbyterian nursing team who helps patients and families feel comfortable through compassionate, attentive care. The role supports the nursing department and collaborates with nurses and nursing attendants to provide quality patient care and clinical services, including phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing. This is a full-time night-shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center.
Requirements
- At least two years of current Nursing Attendant experience in a health care setting.
- Successful completion of a Nursing Attendant skills inventory.
- Recent training and/or experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care that helps patients and families feel comfortable and at ease.
- Draw blood and perform EKGs.
- Monitor vital signs and test blood glucose.
- Collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to support patient care and nursing department standards.
- Take initiative while balancing patient care and clinical practices.
