About The Position
The ICU Technician is an invaluable bedside care provider who helps bring comfort, calm, and compassion to patients and families. Working with nurses and nursing attendants, the technician supports the nursing department and helps put patients first. The role combines patient care with clinical practices, including phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose testing. This is a full-time night-shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of current Nursing Attendant experience in a health care setting.
- Successful completion of a Nursing Attendant skills inventory.
- Recent training and/or experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside support to patients and families.
- Draw blood and perform EKGs.
- Monitor vital signs and test blood glucose.
- Collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to support patient care.
