About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts and is responsible and accountable for planning and providing care to assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. The role involves managing patients by taking responsibility for assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation, and is directly accountable to a designated nurse manager or supervisor. This is a per-diem, onsite position at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc.

Requirements

Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
Three or more years of current Cardiac Surgery ICU experience.
Experience with VAD, IABP, Centri-mag, and CRRT.
Ability to perform in a charge role.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
Analytical thinking sufficient to care for a group of patients.
Observational skills and ability to set priorities.
Ability to function under stress with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to apply hospital standards in service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time and priority management.
