About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity. The Section Leader must be able to anticipate potential problems, apply solutions, and implement preventative measures. Excellent attendance is required. The role involves operating a forklift and requires flexibility to support extraordinary production requirements. The Section Leader must possess excellent communication skills, be able to present information to large groups of associates, and communicate and enforce company policies and procedures. This role supports and directs daily company production and projects, and requires the ability to understand and perform any associate's job if necessary, as directed by management. Responsibilities include investigating abnormal situations, documenting and sharing findings using Microsoft Office, monitoring aging trailer reports, confirming order and yard maintenance in GCCS/GPCS, ensuring the error management screen is maintained, and reporting any unresolved issues. The Section Leader will respond to AAP Requests (Cycle Count/JSP), identify needed repacks and timings, complete carryover requests from AAP, and provide daily activity results to the Supervisor. Support for Physical Inventory requirements is also a key function. In terms of Safety/Environment, the role requires following safety rules, ensuring the work area is clean at the end of the shift, and supporting Incident Reports. For Quality, maintaining Inventory Accuracy daily and reporting any inventory irregularities to the Supervisor immediately are crucial. For Cost, ensuring correct receipt of all parts in GCCS and GPCS is necessary. For Delivery, supporting overtime and monitoring receiving areas for correct receipt are important. For Morale, the role involves interacting positively with team members and customers daily, treating all associates consistently and respectfully, and raising concerns/issues immediately to management. For Training, associates will train on SOPs as presented by management, and skill advancement courses are available.

Requirements

  • Post-high school education (2 - 4-year degree in Operations Management, Business or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Able to interact professionally within the company with our customer and associates.
  • Able to lead project teams and present information to management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift, hours, holidays, weekends, or overtime as needed.
  • Computer skills- Microsoft Office; GCCS/GPCS.
  • Successful completion of Microsoft Assessment Test will be required.
