About The Position
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring part-time Scoopers for its Woodland Hills ice cream shop in Los Angeles, California. Scoopers serve as brand ambassadors, bringing the company’s standards and hospitality to every guest interaction. The role suits self-starters who can work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, and who bring positive energy, strong people skills, and a genuine passion for ice cream. The position pays $20 per hour, plus tips that average an additional $11 per hour and may fluctuate seasonally. Team members must be available for at least three shifts per week and able to work past midnight. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Genuine passion for ice cream and desserts.
- Dexterity to prepare and serve all menu items in accordance with established service and build-out standards.
- Able to push, pull, or lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Able to stand for extended periods regularly.
- Able to walk up and down stairs regularly.
- Able to stand, bend, and reach for prolonged periods.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Available to work at least three days per week, including nights and weekends past midnight.
- Reliable, punctual, and ready for every shift.
- Food handler certificate required.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest warmly, enthusiastically, and with genuine hospitality.
- Scoop and serve all menu items while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
- Educate guests about flavors, ingredients, and special offerings as a Van Leeuwen ambassador.
- Prepare fresh, house-made menu items daily.
- Operate the Square POS system accurately to support guest checkout.
- Learn and follow food safety procedures.
- Maintain store cleanliness and follow sanitation guidelines.
- Complete daily tasks such as stocking, inventory, and cleaning.
- Follow established safety, grooming, uniform, and employee conduct standards.
