About The Position

Novastar Prep is seeking dedicated part-time tutors to join their team. Tutors will work 1:1 with students remotely, focusing on IB Spanish, IB Mathematics, and potentially other IB subjects like English, Sciences, and Individuals & Societies. The role requires supporting students within the IB curriculum framework, assessment criteria, and pacing, with a focus on content mastery and exam strategy. Tutors will build relationships with the same students over time, track their progress, and benefit from flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and a supportive team environment.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 1+ year of recent or current tutoring or teaching experience.
• Clear and effective communication skills, able to connect with students of various learning styles.
• Reliable internet connection and computer literacy.
• Willingness to commit to at least one semester.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in IB Spanish Language & Literature and IB Spanish B (SL and HL), focusing on language proficiency, writing, oral assessments, and exam preparation.
• Support students in IB Math Applications & Interpretation (AI) and IB Math Analysis & Approaches (AA) at both SL and HL levels, including internal assessments (IA) and exam readiness.
• Tutor in additional IB subjects as available, such as IB English Language & Literature, IB Biology, Chemistry, Physics, IB History, Economics, and other IB Individuals & Societies courses.
• Work comfortably within the IB curriculum framework, assessment criteria, and pacing.
• Support both content mastery and exam strategy for students.
• Work consistently with the same students and track their progress over time.
• Set own hours and work remotely.
