About The Position

Novastar Prep is seeking dedicated part-time tutors to join our team. Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 1+ year of recent or current tutoring or teaching experience.
• Clear and effective communicator, able to connect with students of various learning styles.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and be computer literate.
• Willingness to commit to at least one semester.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I-III.
• Help students improve in Reading Comprehension, Writing Skills, Literature, Public Speaking, and Advanced Placement (AP) English.
• Provide instruction in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and AP Science courses.
• Assist students with US History, World History, European History, Civics/Government, Economics, and AP Studies courses.
• Prepare students for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, SOLs, GRE, MCAT, and LSAT with focused, strategic tutoring.
• Guide students through the College Essay writing process, College Application procedures, and Interview Preparation.
• Work 1:1 with students in a supportive and personalized environment.
• Track student progress over time.
