About The Position

PIRTEK is hiring a Hydraulic Hose Service & Sales Technician to provide on-site hydraulic and industrial hose replacement services across a local territory. The technician works from a purpose-built mobile service van, traveling to customer locations such as construction sites, marine yards, and manufacturing plants to diagnose hose failures, fabricate and install replacements, and help customers get equipment and operations running again. No hose experience is required; training may be offered at the franchise owner's discretion. The role combines hands-on mechanical service with customer relationships and sales. Compensation includes a base rate of $19.00–$22.00 per hour, sales and performance bonuses of up to 4% per month of total sales, and on-call pay. A company vehicle is provided for commuting to and from work. The position involves working in noisy, outdoor, and oily or greasy environments and participating in a rotating on-call schedule. The franchise is independently owned and operated, and hiring decisions are made by the franchisee.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to safely drive a large work van.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Comfort with hand tools and specialized equipment; applicants must have their own hand tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to sit, stand, kneel, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
Ability to safely use ladders, step-ups, and stairs.
Confidence handling customer questions and objections to close a sale.
Positive attitude on difficult days and ability to work independently or with a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience in construction, industrial work, automotive, marine, or field mechanics.
Hydraulic hose experience is not required; training is offered at the franchise owner's discretion.

Responsibilities

Respond to service calls and make sales visits throughout the local territory.
Diagnose failing hoses and assemblies, then remove, fabricate, and install replacements on-site.
Clean up and contain oil spills to the customer's satisfaction and in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Record service details in the online system to support accurate invoicing.
Build relationships with new customers and retain existing customers.
Follow up to confirm customer satisfaction and resolve issues before leaving the site.
Maintain the service van, tools, and equipment.
Participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
Follow PIRTEK and industry safety standards.
Perform other related duties as needed.
