About The Position

PIRTEK is hiring a Hydraulic Hose Service & Sales Technician to provide on-site hydraulic and industrial hose replacement across a local territory. Technicians respond to customer service calls and sales visits in a purpose-built mobile service unit equipped with the tools and machines needed to diagnose, fabricate, and install replacement hose assemblies at customer locations. Work takes place in settings such as construction sites, marine yards, and manufacturing plants, and may involve noise, weather, oil, and grease. The role combines hands-on repair work with customer service and sales, including building customer relationships and growing repeat business. Training is offered at the franchise owner's discretion and covers industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes, safety standards, and operation of the mobile service unit. Travel costs are covered if training requires travel. Technicians can also contact a 24/7 expert hotline for help in the field. Compensation includes a base rate of $19.00–$22.00 per hour based on experience, sales and performance bonuses of up to 4% per month of total sales, on-call pay, and rewards for customer growth.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to safely drive a large work van.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Comfort using hand tools and specialized equipment.
Must have own hand tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to sit, stand, kneel, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
Ability to safely use ladders, step-ups, and stairs.
Confidence handling customer questions and objections to close a sale.
Positive attitude on difficult days and ability to work independently or with a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience in construction, industrial work, automotive, marine, or field mechanics.

Responsibilities

Respond to service calls and sales visits throughout the local territory.
Diagnose failing hoses and assemblies, then remove, fabricate, and install replacements on-site.
Clean up and contain oil spills to the customer's satisfaction and in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Log service details in the online system to support accurate invoicing.
Build relationships with new customers and encourage existing customers to return.
Follow up with customers, ensure their satisfaction, and resolve issues before leaving the job site.
Maintain the mobile service van, tools, and equipment.
Participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
Follow PIRTEK and industry safety standards.
Perform other related duties as needed.
