About The Position

The HVAC Technician 2 provides professional customer service and delivers portable HVAC equipment. The role demonstrates proficiency in using, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing company rental equipment; checks in and repairs returned equipment; performs general shop duties; and delivers and installs Climate Control (CC) equipment. The technician also trains authorized operators or customers in safe equipment use and follows established safety procedures.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of formal HVAC experience or training.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record free from points.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to work some after-hours and weekend shifts during peak times.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair most Climate Control equipment.
• Understanding and application of safety principles.

Nice To Haves

• HVAC Certificate recognizing formal training and legal (state-licensed) ability to work on refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment, and train authorized operators or customers in safe equipment use.
• Direct customers to sign the appropriate paperwork and track equipment serial numbers.
• Troubleshoot and understand the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment.
• Operate a company vehicle safely and follow company safety policies.
• Clean and test returned equipment to ensure it meets operational and appearance standards.
• Complete paperwork for deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Install flexible gas hose for propane and natural gas applications.
• Follow proper and safe procedures when checking gas connections.
• Work with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.
• Provide emergency service response while on call, including on a rotating schedule for weekends and evenings.
