About The Position

The HVAC/R Start-up Technician serves as a subject matter expert on processes, procedures, and projects. The role performs evacuations of parallel racks after verifying pressure tests, completes EMS wiring and programming for systems from all manufacturers, and performs start-up of new parallel refrigeration systems and individual systems. The technician may lead small projects, including single-case and condenser changeouts, and assist with EO projects such as supermarket retro-commissioning for system performance or utility programs, EMS upgrades, leak detection upgrades, and gas conversion projects. Between projects, the technician works with local branch Service and Construction Managers to support problematic stores, train junior technicians and foremen, and assist in other areas as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Coursework at an accredited vocational-technical or trade school.
• At least 3 years of experience with supermarket EMS systems.
• At least 5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration.

Nice To Haves

• EMS certification preferred.
• Experience with CO2 parallel rack systems is a plus.
