About The Position

San Joaquin Valley College is seeking an HVAC-R Instructor to bring trade expertise into classroom and lab instruction. The instructor coaches students in real-world skills, safety, and industry expectations, helping them develop the confidence to begin or advance their careers. The role involves delivering engaging, hands-on courses aligned with industry and college standards and contributing to strong student outcomes in a supportive campus environment. The instructor creates an inclusive learning environment, mentors students toward academic and career success, and collaborates with faculty and campus leadership to strengthen programs. Teaching support and training are provided. The listed schedule is Wednesday and Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with compensation of $22.00–$32.00 per hour. Candidates offered a position undergo background screening, including education verification, county and national criminal background checks, a motor vehicle report, social security number trace and verification, and an address history search. Additional checks, testing, or ongoing monitoring may apply depending on the position.

Requirements

At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, education, or training when holding an associate degree or higher.
Candidates without a degree may be considered with 5 or more years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education, strong communication skills, and a student-first mindset.
EPA Universal Section 608 Certification.
