About The Position

The HVAC Project Manager role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, from kickoff to completion, and in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality standards. The HVAC Project Manager works closely with customers, builders, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and internal departments to coordinate labor, materials, schedules, documentation, and financial performance while supporting successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, installation practices, construction operations, and project scheduling.
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, contracts, scopes of work, and related documentation.
  • Strong leadership, organization, planning, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate project and financial records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction or project-management software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with office and field teams.
  • Strong customer-service and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to lead project teams and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Professional and respectful demeanor when working with customers, coworkers, vendors, and business partners.
  • English speaking, reading, and writing skills preferred and required where necessary to perform the position’s duties.
  • Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screenings, including background and motor vehicle record checks.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish-speaking skills are preferred.
  • Construction, residential services, or related industry experience preferred.
  • Previous experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor plans, material requirements, and project timelines.
  • Coordinate HVAC installation activities with field supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, builders, customers, and other trades.
  • Review HVAC plans, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, equipment schedules, and project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor project progress, labor productivity, material usage, costs, and overall performance to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate the purchasing, delivery, and availability of HVAC equipment, materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Conduct project meetings and communicate project status, scheduling needs, risks, and expectations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, submittmits, change orders, purchase orders, schedules, inspection records, and progress reports.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, installation concerns, delays, equipment issues, and other project risks.
  • Ensure HVAC work complies with approved plans, manufacturer specifications, applicable building and mechanical codes, safety requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Coordinate required inspections, testing, start-up activities, punch-list items, warranty matters, and project closeout.
  • Support project billing, invoicing, forecasting, cost reporting, and other financial activities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, builders, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
