HVAC Lead Install Technician
About The Position
Freedom Air & Plumbing is seeking an HVAC Lead Install Technician to install and replace residential and light commercial HVAC systems in Rockledge and Florida’s Space Coast. The role includes installing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, controls, and related accessories; testing system operation; and ensuring appropriate airflow, temperature control, efficiency, and safety. The technician will communicate with customers about the installation process, maintain accurate work and materials records, and coordinate with dispatch and the warehouse to complete jobs on time. The position involves year-round residential and light commercial work, high call volume, and rotating weekend work. Applicants must provide their own tools. Employment offers are contingent on completing a criminal background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle report.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of HVAC installation experience is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Must provide own tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring and connections.
- Comfort working in crawl spaces and attics and climbing ladders.
- Excellent math, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Certification or an associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school, and 2 or more years of experience as an HVAC installation technician; preferred but not required.
- Experience with residential customers.
- Experience in the trades, including HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
- Experience with Service Titan.
- EPA certification.
- NATE certification.
- Technical school education.
Responsibilities
- Install residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork.
- Replace or retrofit HVAC systems to meet current efficiency and safety standards.
- Install thermostats, controls, and related accessories.
- Test system functionality and ensure proper airflow and temperature control.
- Explain the installation process to customers and answer their questions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Coordinate with dispatch and the warehouse to ensure timely job completion.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
