About The Position

The part-time HVAC Instructor will use hands-on trade experience to teach students in a classroom and practical training environment in Brockton, Massachusetts. The instructor teaches HVAC installation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting, demonstrates tools and diagnostic procedures, and supports students as they develop technical skills and prepare for industry certifications and employment. The employer provides curriculum, paid instructor training, and support; prior teaching experience is not required. The position is 12 hours per week, Tuesday through Thursday, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. It is presented as an opportunity for experienced HVAC professionals seeking additional income or a different way to contribute to the trade. Compensation is $36.00–$40.00 per hour, with a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

At least 3 years of hands-on HVAC industry experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Massachusetts Oil Burner License/Certificate or Refrigeration License, or willingness and ability to obtain the required credential within 90 days.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and connect with students at different skill levels.
Genuine interest in helping others learn and succeed.

Nice To Haves

EPA Universal Certification.
Previous experience training or helping apprentices or newer technicians is relevant, though not required.

Responsibilities

Teach practical HVAC installation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting skills.

Share real-world jobsite experiences, safety practices, and industry knowledge.
Guide students through hands-on training exercises.
Help students prepare for industry certifications and future employment.
