About The Position

The HVAC Install Apprentice helps learn to accurately install HVAC systems in residential and/or commercial structures. The apprentice works with a Lead Installer, supporting installation work, job preparation, site organization, paperwork, customer service, and coordination with project staff. Rodenhiser provides in-house hands-on training, technical and vendor training, and a path to career advancement.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently with guidance from the Lead Technician.
• Enrolled in school for their license.
• Understanding of Rodenhiser policies regarding paperwork, truck stock lists, truck cleanliness, and tool maintenance.
• Ability and willingness to learn from Lead Technicians.
• Commitment to ongoing training in the field.
• Ability to establish customer rapport throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Installer with HVAC system installations efficiently and accurately.
• Help stage jobs properly and follow the quality checklist.
• Help the Lead Installer maintain a clean, organized job site and a well-inventoried truck.
• Assist with accurate and timely paperwork, including time portal entries.
• Build good customer rapport to support high customer satisfaction.
• Work with the Project Manager and Install Coordinators to ensure jobs are completed.
• Join pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant sources to form a complete circuit.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Participate actively in department meetings and technical and vendor training.
