About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced HVAC mechanic to join their growing North America HVAC business. This role involves supporting critical environments such as hospitals, data centers, and manufacturing facilities. The position offers the opportunity to work with advanced commercial HVAC systems, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and install full systems. You will work with a variety of equipment including chillers, compressors, pumps, rooftop units, and building automation systems, utilizing modern tools. The role also involves serving as a trusted expert to customers, diagnosing issues, explaining solutions, and ensuring system efficiency. Collaboration with a team of professionals, knowledge sharing, and supporting apprentices are also key aspects of the position. The company emphasizes safety, comprehensive training, and investment in employee success.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience working on commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting a range of equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, compressors, and related systems.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems, including alignment and vibration diagnostics.
  • Ability to clearly communicate system issues and solutions to teammates and customers.
  • Willingness to keep learning and sharing knowledge.
  • Hold a Universal EPA refrigerant license.
  • Open to travel 50-75% of the time.
  • Participation in the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices is required.
  • Subject to all pre-hiring screening of JCI.
