About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced HVAC mechanic to join their growing North America HVAC business. This role involves working on advanced commercial HVAC systems in critical environments such as hospitals, data centers, and manufacturing facilities. The position requires travel as part of the IMPACT Fly Team, working with a variety of equipment including chillers, compressors, pumps, rooftop units, and building automation systems. The mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and full system installations, using modern tools and diagnostic techniques. The role also involves serving as a trusted expert to customers, explaining solutions, and ensuring system efficiency. Collaboration with a team of professionals, including supporting apprentices, is also a key aspect of the position. Requirements

  • Several years of experience working on commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting a range of equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, compressors, and related systems.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems, including alignment and vibration diagnostics.
  • Ability to clearly communicate system issues and solutions to teammates and customers.
  • Willingness to keep learning and sharing knowledge.
  • Universal EPA refrigerant license.
  • Open to travel as needed.
  • Participation in the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices is required.
  • Subject to all pre-hiring screening of JCI.

Responsibilities

  • Traveling 50-75% of the time as part of the IMPACT Fly Team.
