About The Position

The HVAC Commercial Install Apprentice/Helper assists with the installation of new heating and cooling systems and relocation of existing systems. The role includes installing ductwork neatly and professionally, operating a company vehicle as needed, and maintaining clean, organized job sites and vehicles. The apprentice/helper follows instructions from supervisors and journeymen, communicates effectively with coworkers and subcontractors, and works professionally with customers. The position also requires adherence to company safety rules, regular use of personal protective equipment, punctual attendance, accurate daily timecards, and maintaining a professional appearance and attitude. The employee is expected to attend HVAC training scheduled by management and be willing to invest time in training seminars and classes.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; must be insurable by company insurance.
Desire to advance in an HVAC career through an apprenticeship program and on-the-job training.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds consistent with trade practice.
Ability to work out of town when necessary.
Ability to work outdoors in a wide range of temperatures.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Ability to work off ladders and lifts.
Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Basic written and verbal English-language communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous HVAC experience in a commercial application.
Enrollment in an apprenticeship program or technical/trade school.
Previous experience reading blueprints.
