About The Position

The Department for Aging and Independent Living provides services for the aged and physically disabled populations across the state. The Department is charged with assisting individuals in obtaining needed home and community-based care and services to prevent premature admission into a long-term care facility. The goal of the department's programs is to assist individuals with remaining in their own home for as long as possible. The Department is currently seeking a high energy, self-motivated individual with the desire to assist the Division in supporting the department's goals.

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of professional experience in the administration of human services programs, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field.
  • A master's degree in social work, health administration, labor relations, public or business administration or related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Administrative or business experience, or professional, subprofessional, or clerical work in a human services area, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of waiver staff within the Certification and Monitoring Section.
  • Perform advanced analysis of records to identify provider deficiencies.
  • Evaluate regulations and policies, providing expert recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop, interpret and maintain comprehensive statistical reports and tracking spreadsheets.
  • Address complex inquiries and prepare detailed oral or written responses.
  • Analyze and report impact of policy changes, providing expert insight to inform decision making and strategic planning.
  • Conduct monitoring and technical reviews of agencies providing waiver services.
