About The Position

Do you want to help improve programs that serve youth and families across Pennsylvania? As a Human Services Program Representative 1 with the Department of Human Services, you help ensure that facilities and services meet important standards. This role allows you to support quality assurance efforts, review program operations, and provide guidance to facilities statewide. Join a team dedicated to building safe, effective, and responsive juvenile justice services. This role provides program guidance, evaluates statewide services, and supports the improvement of juvenile justice operations.

Requirements

  • Three years of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating a human service program, and a bachelor’s degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Review institutions to assess performance, compliance, and service quality
  • Provide guidance on treatment practices, safety procedures, and program standards
  • Support data review, reporting, and process improvements across Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services' facilities
  • Assist with developing, revising, and interpreting policies and regulations
  • Examine complaints and incidents and prepare detailed reports of findings
  • Work with statewide partners to strengthen strategies for delinquent youth
