About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Office of State Human Resources, Division of Temporary Solutions. The agency's mission is to provide a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of our greatest asset – OUR EMPLOYEES. This temporary position is located in Wake County, with the Department of Health and Human Services - MH - Mental Health. The primary purpose of this position is to lead the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Services in addressing the mental health, substance use, and justice involved needs of families. This position will lead the redesign of the child residential continuum of care and directs cross divisional efforts to strengthen community-based alternatives to residential treatment while improving residential treatment statewide. The position plays a central role in statewide strategies to reduce emergency department (ED) boarding and DSS youth boarding by advancing early intervention, crisis diversion, and timely access to outpatient and community-based services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in a closely related program; or Bachelor's degree in the area of assignment field from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in a closely related program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
