About The Position

The first full performance level class works under general supervision & requires considerable knowledge of human resources functions & civil service laws, rules, policies & procedures in order to perform basic HR assignments requiring application of HR practices to make decisions which have prescribed outcomes. Normal Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm. Posted until filled.

Requirements

Completion of core course work in Associate’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field; 12 mos. experience in public sector human resources, OR, 24 mos. experience in administrative, management or supervisory position with human resources responsibilities; valid Ohio Driver's License.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the education and/or experience required.
Education and Experience may not be substituted for mandated licensure/certification.

Responsibilities

Conducts new hire orientation (e.g., presents training videos, summarizes important topics and/or policies from power point presentation), reviews, uploads and processes forms in Workday.
Responsible for maintaining appointment sheets, the table of organization and the Human Resource Information System for departments under the Board of County Commissioners (e.g., update current employee records as changes occur such as addresses, phone numbers, pay rates, job titles, full-time/part-time/on call, discipline).
Performs routine updates to miscellaneous forms and informational sheets.
Responsible for office supply inventory and office purchases.
Maintain personnel files, confidential medical files and appropriate records.
Responsible for the HR Department compliance with the records retention regulations regarding retention and destruction of documents, as well as responding to public records requests.
Performs administrative functions for the Director (e.g., creates spreadsheets, forms, charts and reports; answers routine inquires; schedules meetings and appointments; and generates routine correspondence).
Serves as a liaison for disseminating information between the HR Department and employees, supervisors, elected officials and the general public.
Coordinates implementation of the catastrophic sick leave program.
Oversees all social media and public communication efforts for Greene County Human Resources, including content creation, marketing, and public relations.
Utilizes multiple platforms—social media, websites, digital and print media, and public events—to promote programs, recruitment, and community engagement.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Director or in the absence of other staff members.
