About The Position

Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is seeking a customer service-focused and technology-savvy Human Resources (HR) administrative professional to provide HR support in a high-volume, fast-paced department of 600+ employees. The successful incumbent will be part of the MHSS HR team dedicated to attracting, rewarding, and retaining a high-quality workforce to serve clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of clerical experience, preferably in a Human Resources environment
  • Ability to implement and maintain standard filing systems
  • Ability to prepare routine correspondence and memoranda
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two or more years of related HR experience
  • Experience in a Human Resources environment
  • Experience with records management
  • Experience with tracking HR data
  • Some recruitment experience
  • Public sector HR experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Working knowledge of electronic filing systems and records management

Responsibilities

  • Answering routine HR questions
  • Timely and accurately entering personnel actions in the human resources information system (HRIS) Workday
  • Retrieving data and reports from the HRIS
  • Creating and maintaining electronic files (personnel, recruitment, etc)
  • Creating and/or updating HR forms
  • Assisting in reviewing and processing human resources documents
  • Assisting in posting positions in the recruitment management system; applicant tracking
  • Maintaining and tracking human resources data using spreadsheets
  • Assisting in conducting fingerprinting for background checks and electronically submitting Child Protective Services (CPS) forms
  • Assisting in coordinating and conducting the departmental new hire employee orientation
  • Performing special projects and other work as required
