The Human Resources Support Specialist provides overall support to the Human Resources department with a primary focus on Total Rewards. This role is responsible for coordinating logistics and preparing materials for benefits and wellness programs, processing invoices, supporting new employees through benefits enrollment, assisting employees with qualifying life events, and serving as a point of contact for benefits-related inquiries. The specialist also administers tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs, supports leave of absence and disability programs, assists with COBRA administration and audits, participates in open enrollment, manages pet insurance administration, prepares holiday calendars, maintains benefits documentation, manages wellness and mental health communications, and conducts benefits orientation sessions. Additionally, the role provides backup support for data input into the HCM system, assists with labor law posters and compliance notices, and supports HR Leadership on special projects. The specialist also provides customer service, oversees department timekeeping, updates the HR page on the internal portal, maintains the HR Department calendar, manages employee personnel files, provides backup support to Talent Acquisition and Payroll, fields incoming inquiries, maintains department office organization, handles department mail, distributes HR communications, assists with department travel, coordinates department meetings and expenses, and provides department budget support.
