About The Position

Human Resources primary function is to provide assistance on and facilitate human resources functions for the Briarcliff campus, and Topeka as needed. Specifically, this position will manage a portion of the recruitment process/procedures, provide supervisor support, employee relations contact, manage forms, and workers’ compensation process/claims.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand, observe, and enforce infection control procedures related to facility services.
  • Ability to observe all facility safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and recognize potential physical, chemical, and electrical hazards and take immediate corrective action as appropriate.
  • Ability to understand and enforce the Exposure Control Plan as this position risks occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens and other infectious material as an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to safeguard the privacy of Residents’ health information.
  • Ability to speak and read English and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, residents, and staff.
  • Ability to use computers; the ability to use the designated facility computer system (or systems) at a proficient level.
  • Ability to perform other related duties as directed by administration.
  • Must attend staff meetings, in-service classes, and committee meetings as assigned or required.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, balance, finger, grasp, push, pull, reach, or walk.
  • Ability to lift objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects along a horizontal level but from position to position. This includes lifting and carrying weights up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to exert force upon an object in order to draw, drag or tug objects toward the source of the force in a sustained motion.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of human resources experience preferred; consideration for experience and education may be given in lieu of the bachelor’s degree and two years per management’s discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the selection/hiring process; requisitions, job advertisements, processing/distribution of applications and resumes; build networking relationships with colleges, trade schools, and other entities as well as identify and attend career fairs that support the sourcing of qualified candidates.
  • Act as point of contact and provide guidance on the process flow for employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns; conduct interviews and additional actions per the grievance procedure.
  • Provide assistance to managers and/or supervisors on questions about termination, request for time off (i.e. leave), transfers or promotions.
  • Manage all workers’ compensation claims; act as the point of contact for claims, respond to questions, follow-up and track claims until completion; complete OSHA 300 and 300A.
  • Answer questions from staff regarding personnel policies and procedures.
  • Develop, prepare, and generate ad-hoc special reports pertaining to staff information and data, including recruitment and applicant tracking.
  • Monitor employee turnover
  • Maintain required employment postings, i.e. minimum wage, worker’s compensation, unemployment, ADA, etc.
  • Annually review and make recommendations for improvement of organization policies, procedures, and practices (i.e. job descriptions, personnel handbook, retention practices, selection process, compensation and benefits programs, performance evaluation program); communicate changes in policies and procedures.
  • File EEO-1 annual report.
  • Assist with benefit communication and enrollments.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation; ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local jurisdiction
  • Revise/update State specific prohibited offenses
  • Backup for new employee orientations.
  • Assist with retention strategies and employee recognition initiatives
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the CFO, including special projects as they relate to accounts human resources functions.
