About The Position

The Human Resources Specialist provides support to the Human Resources department in various functions. This role plays a critical role in talent acquisition, onboarding, talent development processes, compliance with labor laws, and data reporting. This role will work closely with employees and management to foster a positive work environment and ensure effective HR practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of general Human Resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with business collaboration tools such as MS Office applications, Outlook and function specific applications including HRIS and ATS systems.
  • Superior internal and external customer service and communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, dedicated to the challenge of helping other people.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters.
  • Excellent organizational and time/task management skills with the ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
  • Function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, client orientated team.
  • Foundation and knowledge of principles and practice of HR including employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to follow compliance and company regulations when working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and meet process deadlines.
  • Ability to schedule meetings with complex calendars.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Human Resources program preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and PHR preferred.
  • Previous experience with talent acquisition coordination a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the pre-employment process to include scheduling drug tests, background and credit checks, and overseeing onboarding to ensure accurate and timely completion of all required new employee/contractor paperwork and its entry into the HRIS system.
  • Primary responsibility among team for monitoring the HR department inbox. Responsible for responding to general/common inquiries and forwarding or escalating specific and/or complex matters to appropriate HR team member for resolution.
  • Manage internal employee announcements and coordinate sending of gifts for events including births, deaths, and retirements.
  • Complete written and verbal employment verifications requests and draft response letters as needed.
  • Collect and analyze HR data, including employee turnover and recruitment metrics.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on key HR performance indicators (KPIs) to HR team.
  • Monitor HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance review process, employee handbook acknowledgement, benefits open enrollment, etc.
  • Assist in developing and supporting culture events.
  • Coordinate and assist with projects, presentations, and reports for team as requested.
