About The Position

SmithGroup is seeking a Human Resources Representative to support benefits and payroll administration, HRIS records and reporting, employee and candidate service, recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. The role also helps develop and administer local and firmwide HR plans, procedures, policies, programs, and systems, and advises operational managers on HR, employment law, and employee-related matters.

Requirements

• Three to six years of HR-related or related-field experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Sensitivity in handling confidential information.
• Ability to set priorities, multitask, and work independently.
• Professional-setting proficiency in HRIS maintenance and file management.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and strong computer literacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Working knowledge of UltiPro and talent management software applications.

Responsibilities

• Administer benefits and payroll, including new benefit enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating information to employees and candidates.
• Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile database reports.
• Provide customer service to employees regarding benefits, payroll, and company policies.
• Track and screen candidate credentials and coordinate interview scheduling.
• Lead new-employee onboarding, including coordinating and/or conducting orientation, E-Verify, state new-hire reporting, training, and entering paperwork into the HRIS database.
• Develop and administer human resources plans and procedures for local personnel.
• Assist with firmwide initiatives, including developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures.
• Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
• Design, administer, and maintain HR-related programs as needed.
• Provide employee-relations counseling and serve as a coaching resource.
• Advise operational managers on HR, employment law, and employee-related issues.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
