About The Position

SmithGroup is seeking a Human Resources Representative to support employee benefits and payroll administration, HR information systems, recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. The role provides customer service to employees and candidates and contributes to local and firmwide HR programs, policies, and systems.

Requirements

• Three to six years of HR-related experience or related field experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Sensitivity toward confidential information.
• Ability to set priorities, multitask, and work independently.
• Proficiency in HRIS system maintenance and file management in a professional setting.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and strong computer literacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Working knowledge of UltiPro and talent management software applications.

Responsibilities

• Administer benefits and payroll, including new benefit enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating information to employees and candidates.
• Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile database reports.
• Provide customer service to employees on benefits, payroll, and company policies.
• Track and screen candidate credentials and coordinate interview scheduling.
• Lead new employee onboarding, including coordinating or conducting orientation, E-Verify, state new hire reporting, new hire training, and entering paperwork into the HRIS database.
• Develop and administer human resources plans and procedures for local personnel.
• Assist firmwide initiatives, including developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures.
• Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
• Design, administer, and maintain HR-related programs as needed.
• Provide employee relations counseling and serve as a coaching resource.
• Advise operational managers on HR, HR law, and employee-related issues.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
