The Human Resources Professional I supports various HR functions by performing diversified clerical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating personnel records, processing employment applications and payroll changes, enrolling employees in programs, and compiling reports. The role also involves conducting orientations, distributing policies, and assisting with benefits administration to ensure efficient and compliant HR operations. This perspective focuses on enhancing HR workflows and ensuring accuracy and compliance in administrative tasks. By supporting key areas such as employee records management, benefits administration, and onboarding, the HR Professional ensures an efficient and cohesive approach to HR processes. Requirements

  • Associate degree OR High School Diploma or GED, with 3 years of HR – related experience.
  • Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid communication skills (orally and written), and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, compliance, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale change initiatives and drive business transformation.
  • Solid mathematical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Possess a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Seeing, hearing, talking, standing, stooping, bending, walking, reading, and writing.
  • Reaching with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ADP is a plus.
  • The HR Professional should stive to gain on-the-job experience within the HR department and cross train on various functions.
  • Professional development hours are encouraged to stay abreast of compliance requirements and strive to obtain certifications for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee records, ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
  • Assist in implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and document new hire onboarding processes, including preparing materials and scheduling sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Conducting orientations to explain benefits – Enhances new employees' understanding of company benefits and policies, improving their onboarding experience.
  • Assisting employees with payroll changes and benefits enrollment – Provides direct support to employees, addressing their administrative needs promptly and accurately.
  • Answering employee inquiries and providing authorized information – Builds trust by addressing concerns and providing accurate responses to HR-related questions.
  • Preparing and filing reports of accidents and injuries – Reduces legal risks and ensures timely compliance with workplace safety regulations.
  • Verifying payroll changes with computer printouts – Ensures alignment with financial controls and reduces discrepancies.
  • Compiling data for reports from personnel records – Provides insights that enable better resource allocation and cost control.
  • Updating employee files for payroll and benefit use – Maintains accurate up-to-date records, avoiding inefficiencies or errors that could lead to financial losses.
