About The Position

Oversee the maintenance of the HR company server, for accuracy and changes. Assist the Human Resources Department with the day-to-day functions of Human Resources, to include meeting deadlines in a timely matter, and other special projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field, preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Work experience in Human Resource Department for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Excellent presentation skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs (word, excel, power-point).
  • Excellent communication skills to assist with employees, applicants, and the public.
  • Ability to evaluate applicant qualifications; analyze job requirements; and prepare and revise job descriptions.
  • Ability to explain policies and procedures to staff and the public; plan, organize, and coordinate programs and activities.
  • Must be organized and efficient.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the functions of day-to-day operations of Human Resource Department.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate employment records of the organization.
  • Assist in maintaining Human Resource Programs (special projects) etc., annual evals, 90-day evaluations.
  • Assist in reviewing I-9 forms.
  • Assist in gathering and preparing reports, presentations, and other materials for employee meetings.
  • Assist with the maintenance and update of personnel information, in computer and employee files on regular basis for three companies, as well as monitor the HRIS database.
  • Assist in coordinating special projects, employee activities, all employee meetings, and other special events.
  • Manage and prepare the distribution/archiving of the following company forms: the Yearly Calendar for store employees, Conflict of Interest and Gift Policy, 90-day evaluations, and Annual forms.
  • Oversee the audit of I9s forms, current and terminated ones.
  • Gather and provide data for reports, as requested.
  • Maintain and update company/departmental forms, and manuals in English & Spanish.
  • Also assist additional departments: Missions, Contracts, and the District Manager.
  • Oversee/update company Job descriptions, Interview questions for applicants and initiate new data for current or upcoming positions, initiate the translation of forms into Spanish as needed.
  • Assist in monitoring the revisions and updating the Company Orientation and Volunteer booklets.
  • Oversee the filing of company employee documents.
  • File and maintain for three companies the personnel files for Goodwill Industries of El Paso.
  • Ensure documents are filed in the proper sections paying close attention to names and other identifying information and ensure documents are filed alphabetically in their respective location.
  • Add new documents to employee personal file and file them alphabetically or chronologically in accordance with filing procedures.
  • Retrieve and check out records and files, as requested.
  • Perform periodic audits of files to ensure correct placement, legibility, and proper condition.
  • Place documents into storage receptacles, such as file cabinets, boxes, bins, or drawers, according to classification and identification information.
  • Sort or classify information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria, chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Archive/monitor term employee’s file, for termination process.
  • Assist HR coworkers in additional projects etc.
  • Acts as backup to Receptionist as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
