About The Position
K&S Tire Recycling is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations for its transportation, warehouse, and industrial recycling departments. The role calls for a confident HR professional with strong employee relations, Illinois employment law, workplace investigations, and compliance experience. K&S Tire Recycling is a growing tire recycling company serving customers throughout the Midwest. Its operation keeps millions of pounds of tires and recyclable materials out of landfills and puts those materials back to productive use.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience in transportation, manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operations.
- Strong knowledge of Illinois employment laws and HR compliance.
- Proven experience handling investigations, discipline, and terminations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality.
Nice To Haves
- SHRM/PHR certification.
- Paychex experience.
- DOT/FMCSA knowledge.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage hiring, onboarding, employee relations, discipline, and terminations.
- Conduct workplace investigations and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Illinois and federal employment laws.
- Oversee employee files, handbook policies, and performance management.
- Coordinate DOT/FMCSA driver documentation and safety compliance.
- Review payroll, compensation agreements, attendance, and wage practices.
- Manage workers' compensation administration and employee claims.
- Partner with management to improve accountability and employee retention.
