About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in labor relations and HR generalist functions. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing employee relations, supporting union negotiations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and overseeing key HR operations, including talent management, performance, benefits, and organizational development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience
  • at least 3 years in a labor relations-focused role
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Proven experience working with unions and managing collective bargaining agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to leadership and staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between management and labor unions.
  • Lead contract negotiations, grievance procedures, arbitrations, and labor contract administration.
  • Provide guidance to leadership on collective bargaining strategies and labor-related legal matters.
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, and employment standards.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with union representatives and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and benefits.
  • Support managers with employee relations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with company goals and legal requirements.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide insights to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Support DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion), training programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage HRIS updates and ensure data integrity.
