About The Position
This internship is designed for a motivated student who wants to learn, ask questions, and gain practical skills in a professional public-sector environment. The Collier Mosquito Control District is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a college student interested in Human Resources, Public Administration, or Public Health to gain hands-on experience in a real-world, office-based setting within a local government special district. As an HR Intern, you will collaborate with experts in Operations and Research, gaining exposure to a variety of projects. As an HR Intern, you’ll learn how Human Resources supports a public agency dedicated to protecting community health through mosquito control and prevention. You’ll gain exposure to public-sector HR operations, policies, and compliance while working alongside a collaborative and supportive team. If you’re eager to apply your academic knowledge, learn how a special district operates, and contribute to a mission-driven organization focused on public health and service, this role is for you!
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college or university
- Interest in Human Resources and public-sector administration
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
