About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist will serve as an important contributor to the HR department success. The position will include tactical support as well as administrative duties associated to recruitment, employee onboarding, payroll processing, employee relations, safety, leave administration, and worker’s compensation leave management. As assigned, incumbent will support HR initiatives supporting employee attraction, development, and Gast’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a closely related field.
  • 5 years in a Human Resources role or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, deliver on promises, and drive collaboration with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with recruiting, developing, and retaining talent.
  • Experience with processing payroll from time to dollars as well as timely and accurately.
  • Previous experience with HR reporting, compliance reporting, etc. preferred.
  • Data integrity is high and processes are completed timely.
  • Front facing with employees, able to gain their trust and confidence.
  • Ability to support and encourage a culture of trust, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Performs at high level of discretion, empathy and compassion.
  • Works timely to support customer service tasks.

  • Proficient with Workday or similar HRIS system; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Team); Dimensions (Formerly Kronos).
  • Experience with Workday and Dimensions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment process to include job posting, interview coordination, and the onboarding (including background check and health screens) and welcoming of new employees.
  • Provide employee support and customer care for payroll, Workday, benefits and general employee relations questions.
  • Maintain employee data in HRIS, ensuring data integrity.
  • Process workflows, data changes and updates with accuracy and on a timely basis.
  • Maintain employee records of training, coaching and discipline in the appropriate system and programs, including attendance management.
  • Working with Corporate Payroll on assigned payroll processes bi-weekly.
  • Work with HR Manager and Finance to resolve any employee pay issues.
  • Coordinate and support training events and employee celebrations, including communication, meal coordination and scheduling of events.
  • Assist with the administration of worker’s compensation, disability and unemployment claims.
  • Maintain, prepare, and audit reports including headcount, turnover, learning and engagement and other key metrics, as required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of trust, confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive employee or organizational information.
  • Working with the HR Team to support the annual engagement survey, data analysis and action plans.
  • Maintain employee files in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
